About this picture.
For those of you who like to know the story behind a picture, here’s the story behind this one.
I already said it in one of the other captions, but these birds really are a bit cuckoo. Which probably isn’t the right descriptor because there are birds called cuckoos and these aren’t those. And now I think about it, I feel bad for cuckoos. We should probably put that on the ever growing list of things we shouldn’t say anymore. Anyway, I shot this one at Pangarinda Botanic Gardens near Wellington in South Australia, and I know this caption is supposed to be about the bird and the photo but bloody hell, if you haven’t been there you totally should because it’s freakin’ incredible. The native flowers are insane, and clearly I’m not the only one who thinks so because this birdy is all over it. It’s a Matchstick Banksia by the way.
