About this picture.
For those of you who like to know the story behind a picture, here’s the story behind this one.
Sometimes birdsong is really quite pretty, and sometimes it’s… like a Sulphur Crested Cockatoo. Imagine regular birds are Celine Dion and these cockies are me, and you’ll have some idea of how musical they are which is not. at. all. Once when I was driving between Melbourne and Adelaide I stopped for a bit of an explore and stumbled across a spot the local Sulphur Crested Cockatoos were having bit of a get together and to say they were not happy to see me is a bit of an understatement. It’s a feeling I’m not entirely unfamiliar with to be perfectly honest, and on this day I had a bunch or these giant birds circling about me telling me to rack off. I managed to fire off a few shots including this one as old mate flew directly overhead. I know if you’re a farmer you probably hate these birds because they mess shit up, but I like ‘em. And when you see them from underneath like this, you see how pretty their colours are. Even if they sound like shit.
