For those of you who like to know the story behind a picture, here’s the story behind this one.
Who doesn’t love a Galah? And we all know grumpy old Alf on Home & Away used to call people ‘flaming’ galahs’ and totally not fair to galahs that, OK, can be a bit dipsy at times, but otherwise are great little cockatoos. I mean, some people call them ‘pink and grey cockatoos’ for obvious reasons, and if we remember they’re a cockatoo it sounds much more exotic than just ‘galah’. They’re fairly common so lots of us take them for granted, but they’re giant pink birds and what’s not to love? I shot this one out at a place called Gluepot Reserve which is a bird reserve about 70kms north of Waikerie in the Riverland in South Australia. Good birds and can also highly recommend the Waikerie Bakery if for no other reason than it’s really fun to say.
