Looking for something to read in 2017? Why not start with Mark Manson’s The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck. Don’t be fooled by the edgy title, this is a seriously good book and possibly one of the better ones I’ve ever read in this space. Big call, I know, but I absolutely love this book.

Year of Yes, by Shonda Rhimes is a great read as well. Both entertaining as well as an awesome insight into being a mum, being in business, being in the entertainment business, and saying ‘yes’ to stuff. And all of the above. I thought it may be a bit like Yes Man by Danny Wallace – another epic book that’s well worth a read – but it’s quite different, but still quite awesome.

If you’re looking for a bit of business inspiration or more meaning in your work, try Start Something That Matters by Blake Mycoskie (Toms Shoes), Things a Little Bird Told Me by Biz Stone (Twitter) or Do Over by Jon Acuff – I love pretty much everything he writes but this one is particularly good.

Closer to home, there’s Chapter One, the story of thankyou, by Daniel Flynn. I absolutely adore what these guys are doing – inspirational stuff.

Give your creativity a bit of a kick in the coit with Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert. Some of this was a bit much for me, but some of it was really enjoyable and useful. And I don’t have to love every page of a book, or every idea in there for it to be well worth a read. Sometimes one single idea, one simple, but epic, ‘a ha’ moment, is all it takes, right?

Or to see what I’m reading at any given times, duck on over to GoodReads and say ‘hi’.

Happy reading!
